Use a screw and nut: For screws with a nutted head, this can be inserted into the appropriate threaded insert. Apply a metal-to-metal adhesive, such as Loctite, to the screw to enhance mounting stability and ease of removal. This allows you to install a pliers or wrench that can be used to loosen the insert.

Apply Threaded Socket Mounting Shank Removal Tool: Place the Threaded Socket Mounting Shank Removal Tool into the screw hole and gently tap with a hammer to remove the insert.
Use Bolt Extractor: If the insert is attached via an E-Z LOK™ metal threaded insert, a bolt extractor can be used to remove it. This method is particularly suitable for resistance caused by sticky adhesives.
By heating the insert: If the insert is held in place by an adhesive, the insert can be heated above 300°F (149°C) to help the adhesive come off and make it easier to remove the mount.
Utilizing locking pliers: If the insert is stuck, pliers or a similar locking device can be used to grip the insert firmly. If the blade can be firmly grasped, it may be possible to remove it easily.
Use Super Glue: Apply strong super glue to the bolt and slowly turn the bolt counterclockwise until the blade is removed.
The installation procedure is as follows:
SELECT THE RIGHT INSERT: Select the correct size and type of threaded insert for the application. Common materials include stainless steel and brass.
Drill: Use a drill bit to drill holes in the sheet metal, making sure the holes are sized to the specifications provided by the insert manufacturer.
Tapping: Using a tap that matches the threads of the insert to create internal threads in the drilled hole, this step is critical to ensure that the insert will fit securely.
Install the insert:
Manual Installation: Use a hand tool or screwdriver to screw the insert into the drilled hole until the safety flange is flush with the metal surface.
Motorized Installation: For high volume production or assembly line operations, using a motorized installation tool can speed up the installation process.
Securing Inserts: Some inserts such as E-Z LOK™ have an adhesive (e.g., LOCTITE™) pre-coated on the male threads that cures immediately after installation, making the insert ready for use.
Verify Installation: Ensure that the insert is securely mounted to the metal and that the threads are properly aligned and functioning. The stability of the insert and the thread engagement can be verified by testing by screwing in a bolt or screw.
