How to use WYLIE Dot Repairing Soldering Lug?

In recent years, with the advancement of technology, the method of repairing missing motherboard pads has been innovated. Traditionally, the process required soldering jumpers to fill the pads, but this method is not only time-consuming but also complicated to operate. Now, WYLIE has introduced a new technology - Dot Repairing Soldering Lug, which simplifies the whole repair process and provides a more convenient and efficient method. Below is a detailed description of the WYLIE Dot Repairing Soldering Lug and how it works.

The WYLIE Dot Repairing Soldering Lug is a new product introduced in 2021 and is designed to replace traditional patch cords. It is available in a wide range of shapes and types of soldering lugs for all sizes of soldered boards. Its core advantage is the ability to place the lugs directly on the missing pads for fast and efficient repair of solder joints.

How to use WYLIE Dot Repairing Soldering Lug? The steps are as follows:
1. First, peel back the copper foil layer on the board to expose the internal pads of different sizes and shapes that can be used to handle a variety of motherboards and ICs.
2. Locate a pad of the same size as the missing location. Remove the portion of the board showing the missing pads using a Chili 011 type squeegee.
3. Apply an appropriate amount of medium temperature solder paste to the selected pads and heat them with the QUICK 861DW hot air gun to form a stable solder ball. It is important to ensure that the solder balls are firm and uniform in size. Next clean the pads with PCB cleaner and apply rosin.
4. After aligning the pads, heat them with the heat gun and then gently push the pads with pliers until they make contact. Once this is done and the motherboard has cooled down, the pads are then cleaned with PCB cleaner.
5. Finally, evenly apply green UV light-cured oil to the missing pads, use UV light to harden them, and use a spatula to remove excess solder paste. At this point, you can see that the pads have been repaired and have a good appearance.
6. In order to verify the repair, the pads were checked with a Sunshine DT-17N digital multimeter to ensure that they were functioning properly.

Through this series of steps, WYLIE Dot Repairing Soldering Lug not only improves the repair efficiency of the missing motherboard pads, but also greatly simplifies the repair process.
